The Australian and New Zealand Intensive Care Society (ANZICS) is a member-based, not-for-profit organization that works closely with key decision-makers in the healthcare sector, including government agencies, non-government organisations, regulators, and healthcare providers. ANZICS offers professional advocacy and a wide range of educational resources for intensive care clinicians, while also supporting their welfare and diversity. ANZICS delivers timely, evidence-based information on critical care services across Australia and New Zealand, ensuring the community receives reliable and informed advice.

The ANZICS Global Intensive Care Initiative (GICI) was established in late 2020, and supports the sustainable development of Intensive and Critical Care in low and low-middle-income settings, driven by local needs and values through collaboration and knowledge exchange. With over 100 members globally and regional working groups to encourage partnerships, GICI is dedicated to promoting equity in healthcare, ensuring that all communities—regardless of resources—have access to quality critical care.

Guided by values such as collaboration, cultural sensitivity, and sustainability, GICI seeks to build long-term improvements in critical care infrastructure by integrating local priorities and fostering transparency in all initiatives. GICI strives for excellence in clinical practice, education, and research to enhance patient outcomes and contribute to global health equity in intensive care.
