The Pacific Community (SPC)

The Pacific Community (SPC)

The Pacific Community supports sustainable development by applying a people-centred approach to science, research and technology across all of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We serve our members by interweaving and harnessing the nexus of climate, ocean, land, culture, rights and good governance; through trusted partnerships; investing in Pacific people; and understanding Pacific contexts.

SPC’s Public Health Division (PHD) is dedicated to improving the health, and therefore the future, of all Pacific Islanders. PHD strives to promote and protect the health of the Pacific Islands people. It advocates a holistic approach to health, supports sustainable capacity development, and facilitates and promotes collaboration with partners.  Within PHD, the Clinical Service Program (CSP) collaborates with PICT’s and partners, to explore regional opportunities and solutions for clinical services by providing regional governance, supporting regional approaches and initiatives, commissioning and disseminating research, and strengthening Pacific Clinical Organisation networks.

SPC is the RECSI implementing partner for the Pacific stream.
